CenTrak Launches Edge™ Partner Program

CenTrak has launched the Edge™ Partner Program, an open platform leveraging a broad partner ecosystem and certified solution providers to help healthcare organizations like St. Joseph Mercy Oakland optimize their Real-Time Location System (RTLS) deployments for enhanced clinical and financial outcomes through integrated, enterprise-wide location data and flexible services including deployment, device, and success management.

CenTrak®, a leading provider of Enterprise Location Services™ for healthcare, has announced the launch of Edge™—a program designed to help healthcare providers maximize the financial and clinical benefits of CenTrak’s Real-Time Location System (RTLS). Edge leverages an extensive partner ecosystem and emphasizes the importance of an open location platform, enabling integration with both legacy applications and new RTLS-focused solutions.

Edge provides healthcare leaders with enterprise-wide location data to support informed decision-making for patients, staff, and organizational outcomes. Managed through highly qualified Systems Integrators, Edge offers access to over 130 certified Solution Providers. The program is built on flexibility, allowing end-users to prioritize use cases and document value. Services available through Edge include deployment services, device management, and success management.

St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (Pontiac, MI), part of Trinity Health, was among the first to implement Edge. The hospital began deploying CenTrak in 2012, starting with automated nurse call cancellation functionality. According to Robert Jones, Senior Director of Information Technology at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, CenTrak was chosen for its compatibility with existing technology infrastructure and its ability to integrate with other technologies. The hospital continues to explore opportunities to further integrate and deploy technologies that benefit patients and caregivers.

With Edge, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland has introduced several patient experience enhancements as part of its Intelligent Care System, integrating multiple applications to improve healthcare delivery, efficiency, and quality. The hospital uses Enterprise Location Services to stream location and sensory data to clinical applications and has integrated CenTrak’s services with Nurse Call, Patient Education, Smart Room, and Hand Hygiene Compliance Solutions. The latest integration uses CenTrak Single Use Patient Tags to provide real-time updates of patient location to the hospital’s capacity management system.
