CenTrak®, a leader in healthcare Enterprise Location Services™, has established CenTrak Cares™, a charitable program aimed at giving back to the communities it serves. The program’s first major initiative, “Locating a Cure for Cancer,” focuses on improving the patient experience in cancer centers through the use of Enterprise Location Services and other visibility technologies.

As part of this initiative, CenTrak will:

  • Provide financial assistance to cancer charities
  • Offer special pricing for select cancer construction projects
  • Award an annual grant to the cancer care facility implementing the most unique application of CenTrak technology

For 2017, CenTrak partnered with No Stomach For Cancer, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting research and uniting people affected by stomach cancer worldwide. Gastric cancer is the third leading cause of cancer deaths globally, with over 1 million cases diagnosed each year. Early diagnosis through education and prevention is key to survival. CenTrak will be a premier sponsor for No Stomach For Cancer’s upcoming Spotlight on Gastric Cancer event, held May 12 at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA. This event is free and open to the public.

Vidant Medical Center in Greensville, N.C., is the first healthcare organization to collaborate with CenTrak as part of CenTrak Cares. Vidant is building a six-story, 96-bed cancer center. The 418,000 square foot facility aims to prevent cancer incidence, diagnose the disease in its earliest stages, and ensure that patients in eastern North Carolina have access to world-class care close to home. Vidant and CenTrak are collaborating on innovative ways that Location Services can be used to improve the cancer patient experience. Brian Floyd, Vidant Medical Center President, stated: “Vidant Medical Center is pleased to have a partnership with CenTrak. Both organizations share a curiosity for learning and innovation which allows us to advance the experiences and care provided to patients with cancer. Our goal is to complement the new cancer center with innovative technologies that support the needs of the patients and families we serve.”
