Automated Clinical Workflow Solutions for Healthcare Facilities

CenTrak's Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) automate clinical workflows in healthcare facilities by providing continuous, real-time visibility of patients, staff, and equipment, reducing non-value added time, preventing bottlenecks, enhancing situational awareness, and improving patient satisfaction across various care settings with customizable workflow templates.

Automated Clinical Workflow Solutions

Leverage the power of Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) to enhance the coordination of care with visibility into the location and status of your patients, staff, and equipment.

Improve Clinical Workflow to Enhance Staff Effectiveness and Reduce Wait Times

With CenTrak, healthcare facilities have seen a decrease in non-value added time during patient visits, resulting in improved patient satisfaction. Providers can see at-a-glance how many patients are waiting, for how long, and if they are ready to be seen. Family members can also be kept informed with real-time status updates throughout the patient journey.

Avoid Bottlenecks in Clinical Workflow

Staff time spent searching for patients, manually updating EHR systems, and making phone calls to update family members can cause delays and create bottlenecks in healthcare workflow. Many patient flow solutions only provide visibility based on manual updates by staff, rather than real-time automation.

Situational Awareness for Staff

True efficiency in healthcare processes means no manual input. CenTrak's location sensors automate and continuously update clinical flow. Providers do not need to ask where their patients are or wait for manual status updates, allowing them to manage their daily workflow more effectively and devote more time to quality patient care. Reduced patient wait times also increase satisfaction.

Optimizing Patient Workflow

CenTrak's RTLS is changing the way care is delivered by providing automated patient and staff workflow management in healthcare facilities. From a single department to enterprise-wide, the mission is to optimize clinical workflow with automation in every care setting, including cancer centers, outpatient clinics, surgery centers, radiology departments, and emergency departments. Solutions come with pre-configured workflow templates that can be customized to unique needs.

RTLS-Enabled Clinical Workflow

Advanced technology runs in the background to produce a major front-line impact. Automation means hands-free staff operations: no forms, no data pulls, no manual input. Real-time locating technology keeps your patient flow system continuously updated. Packaged solutions include software, hardware, services, and support.

Workflow Consulting

Experienced healthcare consultants, including nursing staff, process improvement specialists, and application analysts, assist with redesigning patient flow processes in a data-driven and patient-focused way. Clinical workflow automation solutions provide real-time visibility into the current and historical locations and status of patients throughout their visit. Additional tools help review bottlenecks, long wait times, and unattended patients, providing opportunities to optimize and enhance clinical workflow.

Dashboards and Analytics

WorkflowRT is a user-friendly cloud-based patient flow solution that automates workflow and communications. Built-in patient flow reports allow tracking of key metrics such as patient volume, length of stay, room utilization, patient wait times at each clinical milestone, and time with provider. Gain a holistic view of patient/staff interactions and movement throughout the facility, as well as daily to hourly averages of individual milestones to identify anomalies or bottlenecks. This information helps tackle areas for improvement and measure the impact of process changes.

Patient Badges

To support workflow automation in all types of care environments, CenTrak offers a comprehensive selection of RTLS wearable devices for both patients and staff. Reusable patient badges (with replaceable batteries) and one-time-use disposable options provide flexibility in system use and management. The small, lightweight design is comfortable for patients and integrates with existing facility ID bracelets. Features may include water-resistant or waterproof options, motion sensors, tamper detection, and a configurable button.

These badges also support:

  • Contact Tracing
  • Wander Management
  • Infant Protection
  • Mother-Baby Matching

Location Technology

For room, sub-room, and bay-level locating, CenTrak utilizes patented Second Generation Infrared (Gen2IR) technology. Battery-powered Monitors and Virtual Walls are installed in critical workflow areas. These devices transmit a unique location ID using Gen2IR, which is received by any tag in that location—no line-of-sight required. The tag communicates the location ID via radio frequency to the Location Server, where it can be accessed in real-time by hospital personnel and integrated with various Health IoT solutions. Optimal performance is ensured with power-efficient devices and advanced system health supervision through Connect Pulse™.

Trusted Integrations

CenTrak’s open location platform can be programmed to automatically populate patient names and demographic data into Electronic Health Records (EHR), eliminating double entry and ensuring accurate patient information. Scheduling information from EHR or scheduling systems can be brought into WorkflowRT with the Patient Scheduling Connector, automatically displaying appointment time and provider for staff context and workflow optimization.
